RE: 6 Degrees of Separation... Everthing is Connected...

I too take them for pleasure, but like I said, if you want to copy all our photos at least ask in advance or deal with the watermark. Not trying to start a war, just a statement about posting pictures on the web Thanks for the info. I have my photo album on MSN for a decade and never worry about it. It was determined quite long ago that anything posted on the Internet is publicly own, so to my knowledge you expect too much. I took a look at your albums and we have different opinions on more things. Like I noticed you used fish eye effect on Horseshoe bend. I spend lot of hours taking pictures of the Bend not mentioning getting up at 5 AM while on my vacation. IMHO your picture is twisting natural beauty of the Bend. I know that getting full view without hiring helicopter is tempting, but still unnatural. That's the beauty of photography, everyone see's the image differently much like a painter does. I saw it through the fisheye, you see it how you see it. I probably spent a few hours there, and tried every lens we own, but that was actually taken with a 17-35mm lens on a full frame Canon 5D so it does sort of give that fisheye feel to it, it just doesnt bend the perspectives the way the fisheye does. I left all the EXIF data intact, so you can see which body and lens was used. I think the lens was actually out to 21mm. My fisheye is a 15mm and distorted the horizon way to much to not know it was used. This perspective was more what the naked eye saw. Like I said, to each their own and why I enjoy photography so much. We could each take a picture of the same exact thing, and get 180 degrees of different views. Happy New Year!

I take pictures for pleasure. I post my pictures on the net, because I am proud of my pleasure. Isn't watermarking a job? Nah, you post them to Smugmug as your hosting site. Smugmug puts the watermark on it for you and when you copy the link, the watermark is already on there. I too take them for pleasure, but like I said, if you want to copy all our photos at least ask in advance or deal with the watermark. RE: WiFi Booster Antena??

I make these reccommendations from what I have personnaly experienced, not from what I have read. I have an Aircard, Yagi, Amplifier, Wilson Trucker, Hawkin WIFI Adapter, and EnGenius WIFI Adapter. With the exception of the Hawkin, I use all three of these methods, depending on where I am at. Wayne Dang Wayne, do you have to wear a aluminum foil hat inside the coach:E

RE: Your most noteable yet rarely told RV "brain fade" incident?

Drove across the entire state of Arizona with our antenna up. Crossing from New Mexico to California on a trip. Luckily there are no trees in the southern section of Arizona:S But I'm sure it wasnt too good for the antenna with the cruise control set on 60mph

RE: 6 Degrees of Separation... Everthing is Connected...

Not that I care if the photos are posted on multiple forums, but just another reason why I try and watermark my images. I one time had a member on hear cuss me up and down saying that if I'm going to keep watermarking my images, then I shouldnt post them on here. To date, I've found at least ten of our pictures on various forums with many of them croping the images to delete the watermark and never giving credit to where the image came from. One woman went as far as to use one of our images as her signature picture and when I asked about it, she blew it off saying she wasnt selling it or anything. So like I said, I know once you post anything to the internet, you might as well kiss it goodbye, but at least a simple watermark will keep the honest people honest.

RE: Got robbed....

I agree with Joe that most Flying J truck stops have the best prices around. There was one time the guy was filling my tank while we were passing through some small one stop light town when I noticed the price above the big pig. I asked him if it was correct and when he told me it was, I said well you can stop filling right now then, I dont need propane that bad. I learned to ask in advance now.

RE: If something happened to you...

This is a good topic for newbies, but most of us who have been on the road for awhile know enough to get the rig unhooked, or the toad dropped so the spouse could get to help or home if need be. Something tells me if I bite the bullet, the wife is either going to be sitting beside me pulling the trigger, or next in line being as we're usually inseperable:B

RE: Fan in the Bathroom

THe ones at radio shack are called pancake fans and are usually used for computers, but they're whisper quiet and should be simple to mount. I know my fan has two exposed wires runing to it, so if I was going to swap it out, I'd just pull the fuse, unhook the wires and hook them up to the new fan. Then re-insert the fuse and you should be good to go. Personally we keep that little noisy one in there for that reason alone. If you're going to be making some noise of your own, maybe the fan can drown it out....LMAO....but it's the truth

RE: How long can you wait before dumping tanks?

Depending on how many people are tailgating and how much beer...err...fluids are being consumed while tailgating, those tanks should last no problem The wife and I usually go between 10 to 12 days living in the TT fulltime before we need to find a dumpstation, and never have a problem with odor as long as we are using our Thetford drop in's

RE: did you get any camping goodies for Christmas??

Since it never fails that when one of us needs to use the flashlights, the batteries always seem to be dead, or dying. I heard about a new flashlight that just came out called the Hybrid Light and saw them at Costco so we decided to get a few for stocking stuffers. I have a couple of those you just shake to charge... they work very well also... and hold the charge well... Never tried one of those, I'll have to keep my eye out if I see one!

RE: Your Favorite Boondocking Pics

This is a round-about way to show the camper - You can see it parked on the beach beside another Class A coach in Bahia Concepcion Mexico http://everymilesamemory.smugmug.com/photos/438460122_3xh3A-M-1.jpg This was our morning ritual to go out paddling and watch the sun come up over the bay. This is my wife paddling back to camp so we can start the day off with some tacos and a strong margarita:B Man I miss Baja right now being in Michigan and this cold weather!

They have a little solar panel in the handle that recharges the battery. The packaging states the battery itself will hold a charge for 3 years When I brought them home, (I bought 2, one for the truck and one for the Coach) I set them in the window sill with our Michigan Gloomy Weather to see if the overcast day would kick on the battery charging light to charge the thing or not. To my surprise, the charging light kicked on and stayed on most of the day. The lights themselves arent comparable to my Surefire flashlight that throws a blinding beam across any darkness you could encounter, but they'll work great for working around the campsite and looking through a storage bin late at night. They also say they'll keep buring for 10 hours on one charge! Best thing is we never have to worry about replacing a battery or grabbing one of them and finding out the batteries are dead! I'll keep you posted as to how they hold up, but they say they're waterproof and have a lifetime guarantee and they're made in Utah!! Here is a link to the website if anyone is interested. Cant wait to get out camping now!

RE: Going crazy, global warming not working-need RV trip!

I keep this as our screen saver on the CPU, and being home in Michigan for the holidays with a high today of 12 degrees and a foot of snow on the ground is like driving a dull knife into by stomach! http://everymilesamemory.smugmug.com/photos/423660728_dcinX-S-1.jpg OH how I want to be in Baja right now camped on the lagoon!!

RE: Anyone else letting their subscription expire?

I'd be hard pressed to find an article in the past few years that actually tested a product. I'd love to see something like Consumer Reports Magazine, but for the RV industry. Something that will tell you "We had four of our writers/testers actually use the product, and here is what they felt about it" Not just take a couple of beautiful shots of a top of the line camper, and boast about how nice everything is. What are you saving me from, going to the dealer and walking the showroom floor myself. I want to read tests, trip reports with actual road conditions and honesty about what they felt about the journey and people they met along the way. Somebody give us something good to read here Unfortunately, magazines cannot anger their advertisers. It would be biting the hand that feeds them. That is why Consumer Reports, Gun Tests, Motorcycle Consumer News, the old Stereophile, etc have no advertising. So how and why do these magazines stay in business and seem to be staying thick and still read?!

RE: Shaving on the road

I've never be happy with the results from an electric razor. Even the cheapest disposable blades do a much better job. Having very coarse facial hair and being bald, this is a major problem for me while on the road. What I've found is to fill one of the empty yogurt quart containers with warm water while I'm showering. I was my face and head first while I'm showering, then shut the water off and proceed to shave with a 3 or 4 blade razor (which ever one we find on sale) I use the quart container to rinse off the razor and it's filled with water from letting the warm water get to the shower before I get in. Once I'm done, I place the quart container outside the shower door and proceed to finish showering off. Once I'm done, I just dump the water with all the bits of hair in it on the ground outside so it doesnt clog the lines. This is made possible by keeping a small plastic mirror in the shower with me to know when I'm done shaving.

RE: What tip do you have to save us money to keep camping?

Set yourself up for Boondocking. The intial investment is a bit tough right now, but buy living off-grid, you'd be amazed at how much it will make you look at your daily life and realize how much you waste and dont really need. We live completely off grid in our TT fultime, and being home with family for a few months out of the year drives us up the wall with the amount of lights, A/C or Heat left at full blast when no one is home. The fact that they HAVE to do something almost every day that involves going somewhere? Just kick back and enjoy your surroundings where ever that might be! By not having to worry about hooking up in a campground, you've suddenly opened up thousands of new camping spots, most for free!

RE: Tow Vehicle as Gen Set??

You could probably solve this whole question and save some money by just throwing a few solar panels on the roof of the TT. Then your batteries are charging with NO NOISE and the cleanest way possible. Your one solution comes up every morning!!
